Special Cruise Information
Heaven and Hell on Earth:
Cruising the Northern Caribbean
March 9–19, 2011
In presenting our first cruise, we wish to clarify a few aspects which are different from our typical Study Travel programs. Please read the following information carefully.
Please Note: This Study Travel program is titled “Heaven and Hell on Earth: Cruising the Northern Caribbean.” It is also referred to as “Mayan Mystique.” They are the same program. Sorry for the confusion!
Deposit
The deposit for this program is $850 per person, rather than $500. The deposit is refundable — minus a $100 per-person administrative fee — until 100 days prior to departure. Checks should be payable to Go Next, the tour operator. Credit cards will be charged by Go Next. However, please mail all checks, credit card information, and registration forms to St. Olaf at

Registration Form
A Go Next registration form covering your stateroom request and some signature and travel insurance requirements must be filled out.
Registration Confirmation
After you mail in the completed form, your registration will only be complete when we receive confirmation from Go Next. A number of rooms at several different price levels have been blocked off for St. Olaf. I cannot guarantee your first choice will be available. If your first and second stateroom choices are not available, Go Next will contact you with options. Otherwise, we will send you confirmation of your registration by mail within a couple of weeks.
Program Fees
A $2,000 per stateroom deduction as well as 2-for-1 cruise fares are available only through June 11, 2010. We strongly urge you to act quickly to lock in these substantial price savings. After June 11, 2010, regular prices start at $4,998 per person.
Final Payment
Final payment is due 100 days prior to departure and may only be made by check or cash (credit cards are accepted for deposits only, not final payments). There are just two payments instead of three. (That is, there is no interim payment.)
Flights
Flights are booked by the cruise line, Oceania. We have no control over the airline or the schedule. Oceania will share your flight schedule with you about 60 days prior to departure. You can request to see the flight schedule before this date for a fee of $100 per person. You can also request a specific airline or itinerary for an additional $100 per person, plus any airfare differential.
You can also purchase the cruise program without airfare and make your own flight arrangements. The reduction for this option is $250 per person.
The gateway cities for which airfare is included in the cruise pricing are: Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Des Moines, Detroit, Hartford, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Little Rock, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York (JFK), Newark, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Raleigh-Durham, Richmond, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Spokane, St. Louis, Syracuse, Tampa, and Washington D.C. (Dulles).
Many other departure cities are available for an additional fee of $199. Call for a complete listing. All airfare is in coach class.
Ground Transportation
Transfers between the airport and dock in Miami are not included. Transfers are available for $120 per person round trip, or $70 each way for Cruise Only passengers. As lower-cost option, taxis are readily available and can be hailed at the airport and/or dock.
Gratuities
Gratuities are not included in this program fee. Gratuities of $12.50 per traveler, per day are automatically added to the traveler’s shipboard account. An additional $4 per traveler, per day is added to those occupying Penthouse, Vista, or Owner’s suites where butler service is provided. Travelers may adjust gratuities up while onboard the vessel at their discretion. A gratuity of 18% is automatically added to all beverage purchases and spa and salon services.
Shore Excursions
Shore excursions are entirely optional and at your own expense. St. Olaf will put together a package of excursions which David and Priscilla will attend, but again, these excursions are not required, nor are they included in your program fee. Information about shore excursions will be available approximately four months prior to departure. Meals while on shore are paid on your own unless expressly included in the excursion price.
Itinerary
Approximate arrival and departure times from each port are listed in the brochure.
Terms and Conditions, Including Cancellation Policy
Please read the Operator/Participant Agreement in the brochure closely.
