Office Staff

The job of the Registrar's Office is to ensure that all students, from the first semester through graduation, are appropriately enrolled in courses, that the college maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all St. Olaf students, both past and present, and that students and alumni have access to transcript services and verifications as necessary. The Registrar's Office serves the college community by compiling and maintaining the catalog and class and lab schedule, and providing information and reports. The Registrar's Office is the repository of the academic history of the College.

Mary Cisar

Mary oversees the work of the office as a whole, the staff, and the budget.  She works with the staff to oversee the academic standards and regulations of the college, ensuring that curricular and educational policies are implemented fairly and in a timely and consistent manner; registration policies and procedures serve students and the institution as a whole, graduation requirements are interpreted carefully; and academic regulations are administered intelligently.  She serves as a liaison between the Registrar's Office and the faculty through participation in faculty committees that concern curriculum and educational policy.  She also serves as one of the two College Marshals at occasions when the faculty process in academic regalia.

Katherine Baker
Associate Registrar for Student Services

Katherine works with transfer credits, special admit students, and coordinates the graduation certification process.  She sits on the Academic Standing Committee, the Readmission Committee, Continuing Program Committee, IRB Committee, and serves as the office's liaison to Admissions. She also serves as FERPA consultant.

Kathy Granquist
Assistant Registrar for Reports and Curriculum - x8009
 

Kathy works with statistical reporting and collaborates with Nan Schroeder in developing reports for our new Student Information System.  She also coordinates the new course/program proposal process, maintains the electronic course catalog, and supervises development of Class and Lab schedules.  Kathy is our representative to the New Proposals Subcommittee of the Curriculum Committee.

Tonda Grund
Administrative Assistant - x3014


Tonda manages the data entry and processing of information, including petitions, transfer credit information, graduation information, diplomas; and also maintains the Registrar's web site.  She recruits, trains, and supervises the student work support staff at registration and is back-up student work supervisor for the office. She serves the community at the window, by e-mail, and by phone. She completes verifications and enrollment certifications as a back-up. She is also the Veteran's Administration certifying official and a Notary Public.

Stephanie Johnson

Stephanie is responsible for assigning classrooms, answering the phone and helping visitors at the window.  She also processes verifications and enrollment certifications for scholarships and insurance renewals, as well as verifying athletic eligibility. She is the classroom scheduler and serves as back-up for transcript requests.

Cheryl LaCroix

Cheryl works in the advising center.  She serves as liaison to the Student Life division. 

Nanette Schroeder
Associate Registrar, Data Services - x3292

Nan is responsible for analysis of current and past data and the day-to-day Student Information System (S.I.S.) support for the Registrar's Office. This support includes various campus department, offices, faculty, staff and students who use the S.I.S. Provides leadership in the Registrar's Office on all issues regarding data management and future implementation plans. Manage and oversee documentation of the S.I.S. windows and web applications through a Registrar's Office procedure manual. In addition, the Associate Registrar for Data Services is also the liaison to the Information and Instructional Technologies office.

Paula Stowe
Coordinator, Special Programs and Student Services - x3006

Paula coordinates the college's Summer School program and the Interim Exchange Program.  She processes all transcript requests.  She works with Katherine on FERPA issues and trains and supervises our student workers. Paula is coordinator of the High School Honors Program. She also works with Tonda on recruiting, training, and supervising student work support staff at registration.
