Annual Reviews

  • Conduct your search.
  • Click on the title of an article that interests you.
  • Under Quick Links on the right side of the page is the option Download to Citation Manager. Click that link.
  • In the Include field make sure that the “Citation for this article” is checked.
  • In the Citation manager or file format field, click the EndNote option.
  • Make sure that the Enable quick import into citation manager box is checked.
  • Now click the button that says Download chapter metadata.
  • Choose Open with EndNote.... and click Okay
  • Open your EN library if not already open.
  • Citations will appear.

AnthroSource

In Firefox:

  • In database, select desired article. Only single articles can be imported into EndNote at a time.
  • Below the author, click HTML Version and More Information. Your article will open in a new window.
  • Click Download Citation.
  • Select Plain Text as the Format, Citation as the Export Type, and PC as the file type.
  • Click Go.
  • Select Save File.
  • Click OK and the file will be saved to your Downloads folder.

In Endnote:

  • Click on the Import icon in Endnote.
  • From your Downloads folder, select the file chosen above.
  • Choose Other filters... under import options.  Select the Anthrosource-CC filter.
  • Click Import.

Art Index Retrospective

In Firefox:

  • Check items.
  • Click Get Marked.
  • Click Export.
  • Direct export to EndNote DOES NOT work
  • Under Download Record(s) into check for exporting to Bibliographic Software
  • Click Export.
  • Under File, select Save Page As .
  • *** When naming the file, add the extension .txt and confirm format is ASCII text.  
  • Click Save .

In EndNote:

  • Click on the Import icon in Endnote.
  • Select saved file.
  • Choose other filters under import options.  Select the Art Index Retro-CC filter.
  • Click Import .

ArtStor

  • In ArtStor, double click on thumbnail of image. Save to desktop using diskette icon.
  • Open EndNote and under References select new reference.
  • Choose Artwork as a reference type.
  • You will need to fill in all the information.
  • Click on blue push pin button to attach figure.
  • After figure is inserted, give it a name in the Caption field. This will be how it is labelled when you import it to a word document.
  • In Word, use Find Figures button to import.
  • Search for image by typing in the find field and hit insert.

Bibliography of Asian Studies

In Firefox:

  • In BAS, click on Add to bookbag for the citations you wish to import
  • At top of page, click on Bookbag to access saved items
  • Click on download contents and save to desktop or H: drive

In EndNote:

  • Click on the import icon in Endnote.
  • Select file chosen above.
  • Choose other filters... under import options.  Select Bibliography of Asian Studies-CC.   
  • Click Import.

Note: Before searching the database, open your Endnote Library.

In Firefox:

  • In database, check desired references by clicking Save next to each selection.
  • In the Credo main menu bar, click Saved Results.
  • Under Action, check Export to Endnote.
  • Click Go.
  • Important: In the box that appears, under the option Open with dropdown menu, choose Other...
  • Click on the Endnote icon and click on Okay.

In Endnote:

  • Your references will appear in your Endnote Library.

EBSCO

Note: Ebsco databases EXPORT DIRECTLY TO ENDNOTE

Before searching the database, open your Endnote Library.

In Firefox:

  • In database, check desired selections.
  • Click Go to: Folder View
  • Check all selections.
  • Click the Export icon.
  • Select Direct Export to Endnote, ProCite, CITAVI, or Reference Manager.
  • Click Save.
  • Important: In the box that appears, under the option Open with dropdown menu, choose Other...
  • Click on the Endnote icon and click on Okay.

In Endnote:

  • Your references will appear in your Endnote Library.
  • ***Error - In the Database Name field, the three-letter product code is being imported instead. This must be changed manually. Example: For Academic Search Premier references in Endnote, replace "aph" with "Academic Search Premier".

  • Go to GoogleScholar. Click on the Schlolar Preferences link to the right of the Scholar search box.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the Scholar Preferences Page, and in the "Bibliographic Manager" section, check the option Show link to import citations into
  • Choose EndNote
  • Click the Save Preferences button
  • When you do a search you will note the Import into EndNote link under the entry. Click it.
  • Choose Open with EndNote...
  • Select (or reselect) your library
  • Highlight the filter: Google Scholar - CC and click Choose
  • Reference will import on its own

International Index to Music Periodicals (IIMP)

In Firefox:

  • Select articles.
  • Click Marked List .
  • Click the Download Citation icon.
  • Click Download in format compatible with ProCite, Endnote, Reference Manager and Refworks. The Export directly to Endnote option does not work.
  • Click Save File.

In Endnote:

  • Click on the Import icon in Endnote.
  • From your Downloads folder, select the file chosen above.
  • Click Other Filters… under import options.  Select the IIMP-CC filter.
  • Click Import.

JSTOR

In Firefox:

  • Conduct your search. Then select the records you want. Now click "Save Citations"
  • You will have to create or log in to your JSTOR account (mandatory to download citations).
  • At the very upper right of the screen beneath your name you will see the number of Saved Citations you have. Click that link.
  • You must now select the records you want once again!!
  • Click Export citations.
  • Where it now says Select one Option click the hyperlink that says EndNote.
  • Click on Save. The file will be saved to the Desktop OR Downloads folder and called citations.ris

In Endnote:

  • Click on the import icon in Endnote.
  • Select file chosen above.
  • Choose other filters under import options. Select JSTOR-CC filter.
  • Click Import.

OCLC

Note: OCLC databases EXPORT DIRECTLY TO ENDNOTE

In Firefox:

  • Tag desired references.
  • Click export at top of page.
  • Choose marked records from this section under export.
  • Do one of following:

    Either:
  • TO EXPORT DIRECTLY TO ENDNOTE
    • Choose Export to EndNote.  Click export.  Exporting will open endnote if not already open.  Select desired library. If Endnote is already open, you will need to reselect and re-open desired library.
    • Select appropriate filter. See filter options below.
    • Results will automatically be displayed upon opening library.
  • TO SAVE AS TEXT FILE AND IMPORT
    • Export to "Text File."
    • Click Export.
    • Click on save file in file download box.
    • In EndNote: click the import icon.
    • Choose file.
    • Choose filter from below.
    • Click Import.

In Firefox:

  • In database, tag desired references and click Add to Marked List.
  • Click on marked list at the top of the screen. Choose the additional fields you want (we suggest abstract, keywords, ISSN and source abbreviation).
  • When ready to export, choose Save to EndNote....
  • Choose Open with WebExport Helper.
  • Click OK.
  • Select the appropriate EndNote library and click Open.
  • Click Choose.
